Job Summary

Responsible for accurate and safe dispensing of medicines, patient counselling, pharmacy stock management, and maintaining pharmacy records in compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines accurately as per prescriptions.
• Verify medicine name, strength, dosage, quantity, and expiry.
• Provide basic instructions to patients on medicine usage.
• Maintain pharmacy stock and monitor minimum/maximum levels.
• Check expiry dates and follow FEFO for stock rotation.
• Ensure proper storage of medicines, including refrigerated medicines.
• Maintain dispensing, stock, and other required pharmacy records.
• Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication requirements.
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and safety standards.
• Follow hospital SOPs and applicable pharmacy regulations.
• Report medication errors, adverse reactions, shortages, and expired/damaged medicines to the concerned authority.

Qualification & Skills

• D.Pharm / B.Pharm from a recognized institution.
• Valid Pharmacist Registration.
• Good knowledge of medicines and prescription handling.
• Good communication and patient-counselling skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a hospital environment.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts.

Experience

0–2 years preferred; freshers with valid registration may also apply.
